The purpose of the article is to identify the peculiarities of choreographic interpretations of The Snow Queen created by Ukrainian and foreign choreographers based on the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen in 2007–2023. The research methodology is based on the chronological principle and the use of analytical and comparative methods. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that it is the first to identify the ideological, compositional and lexical features of the interpretations of The Snow Queen ballet created by domestic and foreign choreographers from the beginning of the twenty-first century to the present day. Conclusions. During 2007– 2023, several versions of The Snow Queen (by H. C. Andersen) were presented on the world music stage. They were realized by well-known foreign (M. Corder, K. Grieve, K. Hampson) and Ukrainian (A. Rubina, A. Rekhviashvili, V. Ishchuk) choreographers. One of the main features of the compositional concept of the ballets was the use of both specially composed musical material (composers – T. Kantelinen, O. Shymko) and well-arranged programme pieces by famous European classics of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (S. Prokofiev, E. Grieg, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, A. Liadov, J. Masnais, A. Rubinstein, P. Tchaikovsky, J. Offenbach, J. Strauss). Among the features of the performances is the creation of a libretto by adapting the content of the fairy tale by H. C. Andersen to the historical and cultural traditions of the countries where the ballet was presented (Finland, Scotland, etc.). The situation of partial adaptation of the choreographic text of A. Rekhviashvili’s performance by the new choreographer of the National Opera of Ukraine V. Ishchuk to changed music is atypical, due to the removal of russian music from the theatre’s repertoire due to russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The leading “language” for all editions of The Snow Queen was classical dance, complemented by neoclassicism, free plasticity, characteristic, folk-stage and historical and everyday choreography.
