Ukraine has experienced hostile aggression. The Russian invasion has consolidated Ukrainian society. Journalists are also in the ranks of the resistance. Since the beginning of the war, many of them have changed their cozy editorial offices and TV and radio studios for frontline trenches, taking up arms. Many reporters continue to fulfill their professional duty with dignity, telling the world about the events of the war, including from the frontline. Many media professionals have been charitably helping Ukrainian soldiers and refugees by providing them with the necessities they need. The journalists’ reflections are translated into publications in print and other media, as well as TV and radio programmes. Books are also published in which journalists talk about the war and its heroes, about what they personally saw and experienced. Such publications form a separate segment of contemporary Ukrainian literature. These publications include the so-called veteran literature, works by journalists who have taken part in the defense of Ukraine with arms in their hands. A separate layer is made up of journalistic documentary evidence of the events and resistance of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories and the fate of soldiers and ordinary people during the war. Journalists also reflect on the war in fiction, writing novels, novellas, short stories, and poetry. The activities of publishing houses, public and state organisations to counteract the enemy’s information aggression, as well as the charitable provision of Ukrainian literature to soldiers and displaced persons, are also pages of resistance. The above is the topic of the proposed review article, the purpose and objectives of which are to analyse the publishing activities of journalists during the Russian-Ukrainian war and to identify the thematic and genre-specific features of journalists’ publications about the war.
