A Doctor of Philology, Professor, author of 30 single-authored books, laureate of the all- Ukrainian prizes named after I. Ohienko, I. Franko, B. Hrinchenko, S. Rusova, P. Velychkovskyi, Ya. Halchevskyi, Yu. Fedkovych, V. Chornovil, the international Voskobiinyk Family Prize (USA), as well as the laureate of the Shevchenko (People’s) Prize for the two-volume work The Village, Mykola Stepanovych Tymoshyk published the textbook Fundamentals of Journalism in 2026. This innovative and unique textbook, in its subject matter, content, intention, structure and methodology, meets requirements of fostering and strengthening the Ukrainian national orientation of education and upbringing of students – future journalists. Its intellectual and educational focus reveals to journalists forms and methods of debunking Russian manipulative information-psychological propaganda under conditions of the full-scale anti- Ukrainian war. For the first time, the author convincingly and competently combines the two wings of theory and professional practice: best achievements of the Western journalism and traditions of the national journalism – both in mainland Ukraine and diaspora.
